Tenure-track faculty position in Biosensing

The Departments of Biomedical Engineering (www.bme.psu.edu) and Engineering Science and Mechanics (www.esm.psu.edu) seek outstanding applicants for a tenure-track faculty position in Biosensing. The ideal candidate will have a record of publications and funding indicating a growing or fully developed interdisciplinary research program involving biosensor-based research program. We are particularly interested in applicants who have expertise in developing novel technologies and applications to address fundamental biomedical questions, e.g., the development of in vivo, multimodal biosensing approaches that have relevance to health or in vitro biosensors applicable to highly sensitive and fast examination of target molecules, pathogens, or cells. The position is at the assistant professor level, but exceptional candidates at associate and full professor levels will be considered. Applicants must have a doctoral degree in engineering or a discipline closely relevant to biosensing, and ability to teach biomedical engineering courses.

The successful applicant will join faculty members with complementary, interdisciplinary research interests, and have access to excellent core facilities ( https://www.huck.psu.edu/core-facilities; https://www.mri.psu.edu/materials-characterization-lab; https://www.mri.psu.edu/nanofabrication-lab , research computation infrastructure (www.icds.psu.edu), and clinical opportunities through the College of Medicine. The position will be affiliated with the Huck Institutes of the Life Sciences to facilitate participation in interdisciplinary research initiatives, including the Center for Neural Engineering (https://cne.psu.edu/), Center for Biodevices (https://www.biodevices.psu.edu/), and partner with institutes such as the Materials Research Institute (www.mri.psu.edu) and the Cancer Institute (https://cancer.psu.edu/home).
