The University of Notre Dame's College of Arts and Letters is currently seeking candidates for a faculty role at the intersection of computer science, data science, and digital studies, with liberal arts disciplines in the social sciences, humanities, and visual or performing arts. This position is a full-time, 9-month appointment. Depending on the candidate's qualifications, the position will be designated as either an Assistant Teaching Professor (requiring a Ph.D.) or an Instructor (for those with a Master's degree). The applicant will also serve as an Assistant Director in the Technology and Digital Studies Program with a focus on students matriculating in the offerings of the Program. The role is non-tenure-track and aims to recruit an individual who is deeply invested in fostering interdisciplinary approaches and teaching excellence. This position represents a unique opportunity to bridge the gap between technological disciplines and the broader spectrum of liberal arts, fostering a holistic educational environment.

We welcome applicants from across the spectrum of disciplines within the College of Arts and Letters, including those with a foundation in computational-, data-, or information sciences. The Technology and Digital Studies Program offers undergraduate minors in Computing and Digital Technologies as well as Data Science, along with a BA in Computer Science through collaboration with the Department of Computer Science and Engineering in the university's College of Engineering and other departments. The successful applicant will teach two courses per semester, including one or two introductory-level courses in computing and electives aligned with program goals. The candidate will also serve as an Assistant Director of the program and work closely with the Director to expand and continually improve student curricular and extra-curricular experiences.

The University has a supportive community of related programs, including the partnerships between the College of Arts & Letters and the Department of Computer Science and Engineering in the College of Engineering, the Lucy Family Institute for Data and Society, the IBM Tech Ethics Lab, the Reilly Center for Science, Technology, and Values, the Navari Family Center for Digital Scholarship and the Center for Research Computing.
