Detailed Job Description
The Golisano College of Computing and Information Sciences (GCCIS) invites applications for a full-time tenure-track assistant professor position in the Department of Computing Security. We encourage strong candidates whose research is in any area of cybersecurity, and especially those with research experience or interests in health or healthcare, or in systems and software security.

RIT is making a major investment in cybersecurity, having recently received a $20 million gift to support our cybersecurity programs, including building the ESL Global Cybersecurity Institute (ESL GCI). ESL GCI brings together over 27 faculty from across the Institute to address the growing challenges in cybersecurity with an interdisciplinary approach and to establish RIT as a leader in the field. Recently, we have attracted faculty with excellent research records, including multiple publications in venues like IEEE Security & Privacy, USENIX Security, CCS (2018 Outstanding Paper Award finalist), NDSS, INFOCOM, and more. Our researchers engage in a wide variety of topics in cybersecurity, broadly defined, including software security, hardware security, understanding hate speech in social media, and deepfake detection as just a few examples. A successful candidate will be expected to contribute to the growth of ESL GCI, playing a critical role in advancing research and education in cybersecurity and collaborating across departments and colleges.
